Snooker fan's watch!
My hubby loves his snooker and is glued to the TV whenever it is on. So it was very appropriate to find this 'WorldSnooker.com' watch made by the same company, Royal London, that is involved with the World Snooker Championships. As a gift from the kids, it was good value, well made, in a lovely presentation box and warranty card: it looked more than I paid for it. Any snooker fan would be pleased because it's a good looking gents watch and the snooker connection on it is subtle and tasteful. Also the purchase was easy and it turned up quickly too. Thanks!

Seiko Sportura Honda F1 Watch
This really is the mutt's nuts of watches and I should know, I have had a few seiko watchers in my time.
My only issue is I can't for the life of me, get the alarm to work correctly.
This is down to me and a very bad instruction booklet, this said, it is a really good watch and reasonably priced.
Definitely a big boy's toy.

Classy all rounder
The photograph does not do this watch justice, its a typical Seiko class time piece which is both practical and stunning without being flashy. The combination of stainless steel, black and red tints really catch the eye and it is very comfortable to wear and it is also of a sturdy build, an excellent watch being offered at the moment for a bargain price.

Fantastic Watch
Have had this watch since last December. I have a number of watches and this is the one I prefer to wear.

It is superbly engineered (the watch case is especially well finished off) and has all the functions (and more) that anybody could want. I like the accuracy and not having to worry about the battery runnning out.

Though it is a big watch being titanium it is very light and you don't notice it on your wrist.

The dial is a bit fussy and I agree with previous comments that there is one display too many.

The only quibble is that the bezel can get stiff if any grit gets into the slide mechanism.

Would recommend this watch to anybody considering.

The Ultimate Technology Watch
I have had this watch for over 2 years now and it has to be seen to be believed. Prior to owning this I had looked at previous Skyhawk watches and wanted to buy one, but never quite got around to it. The solar power and multifunction dials always appealed to me, but they never had as many functions as this version.

When this version came out I could not believe the specification! As well as the usual stuff: Stopwatch, alarms, multiple time zones, solar power and no battery change, two other features blew me away, namely the atomic time, which means this watch is always accurate and the fact that it is titanium making this huge watch extremely light. Not to mention the slide rule dial which can be used for calculations.

One other thing that only becomes clear after wearing this is the quality and precision of the dials and the huge amount of finely printed text on this watch. Believe me there is alot of tiny print, but the quality is absolutely second to none and all the surfaces are machined to an incredibly precise finish. I have owned many watches but never seen anything which looks so precise.

Although none of these functions is unique, I do not know of any watch which comes close in functionality, except maybe a Casio or Tissot touch and I have heard that many people have had problems with the Tissot, which is aimed at trekkers rather than a world traveller or pilot and Casio have never quite shaken the cheap disposable image of years gone by.

This watch has been faultless and 100% accurate for 2 years now. It will never be regarded with the same respect as any of the Swiss timepieces all the purists rave about, simply because it is a Citizen, but it simply blows them all away for accuracy and functionality. Most of all it works without any problems and does it at a price they could never compete with.

There are lots of functions on this watch but only two buttons and a crown, which has to be pulled out to use some of the functions and some people object to this, but overall the watch is an absolute revelation.

I've put this watch on and completely forgotten about it...
...except when I check the time!

For me, it's not the fancy world times. Don't get me wrong it was fun playing with this, but I'll use this once (twice if I'm lucky) a year to go on holiday. Even then I've got kids so the amount of exotic places I might go where this is actually useful will be few, since I can generally manage to add or take away a couple of hours. It would have been really useful in my wandering days, but that alas is a few years ago (or away hopefully).

Anyway you don't want to know that, you want to know what I think of it.

Well I don't have to think about batteries, which was my number one criteria, since I have a collection of really nice watches which nolonger go and aren't possible, practical or economic to have the batteries replaced.

Because it is titanium, it's light and comfortable and I hardly notice it's on, which was my number two criteria. Added to that it seems to be very resilient, this is a bonus for someone as clumsy as me.

Also I don't have to worry about it being the right time when I look at it, because the radio updates work brilliantly. This was a nice to have, but I'm glad I got it now. It's particularly galling to a friend who has a kinetic watch which cost more than my car, weighs nearly as much and has to be adjusted too regularly for his liking. Not to mention having to have it overhauled every few years, for a small fortune.

As suggested I'd have bought a cheaper watch with less features but the same quality. Because of the functionality the watch face is too busy for my needs. But I think the dials make it look interesting, it is still a pretty watch which tells the time and date clearly. The other options on the market which satisfied my criteria don't have good reviews and didn't seem to offer the same quality and where still quite expensive. I simply don't want to have to buy another watch after this one. So I am very happy with the watch, but it loses one star for me because of the price. That said, it is Citizen and I'm told they are bomb proof so I might just come back and put that star back in ten years if it's still perfect and turns out to be good value after all.

Total Quality. Amazing Technology! Easy to use.
I have owned a Casio Waveceptor for almost a year now which I thought was a superb watch. I bought it as the Citizen was double the price, however 10 months on and due to the world wide web I have bought one of these watches for not much more than the Casio cost. Don't get me wrong the Casio is a superb watch but the Citizen is oustanding!! I travel a lot and my main gripe with the Casio was it is just too complicated to change the time, the Citizen is so much easier it is also a little easier to read the various dials as it is slightly larger. Both are great watches but the Citizen wins it for me - just shop around there are great deals to be had.

My watch was faulty but had no quibble refund, I suppose it would be a good watch when working, but it relies on you having perfect eye sight.

Can't trust it!
The compass didn't work. The thermometer didn't work accurately even when left off the wrist for 20 minutes. Returned and refunded. I just couldn't trust it for any serious walking.

WS4
The watch is great for barometer, altitude, chrono and temperature. The Chrono + review function brings this together really well- so for example, on my favourite cycle I can see not only time, but also amount descended and amount climbed. Backlight and 10year battery are really neat. Only downsize is that it is pretty big, and I do find that the buttons do dig into my wrist a bit. In summary, great for activity, not so good for the office (unless you want to see how high up you are....)

Timex widescreen expedition watch
Product came through very quickly and packaging was very good to prevent damage to watch.
the only negative comment I have is that the watch was for a present, and my husband saw the name of the watch company on a sticker on the outside of the box when it was delivered so it was difficult to keep it a secret. Would suggest putting sticker on one of the internal packaging boxes rather than the outside box. Other than that my husband loved it.

Nice watch with almost useless sensors
Good watches but sensors are really weak. I can trust only results that barometer or watches are showing. Sometimes compas is showing correct results, but it really sensitive and may change direction because of quite small pice of iron. Thermometer has big error so it does not really make any sence to show degrees with decimals. Altimeter is highly dependent on presure, so it can be used only withing sort ranges, so I don't really understand when altimeter can be really used.
So far, this watches are nice device for people who are not really interesting in good results of such sensors (as it was mentioned in maunal). However, if you really need device with good and accurate sensors I would recomend to look for bit more expencive models. If you are traveling a lot in wild nature or if you are interesting in parachuting sport, then you should not take this device.

Big, but not quite as rugged as it might appear
(Based on owning this watch for more than five years)

The first thing anyone notices about this watch is that it is big...huge in fact.

For me this isn't a major problem and in fact is exactly why my girlfriend (now wife) bought it for me - she knew I like gadgets and she knew most watches look like toys in comparison to my 6 ft 4in, 17-stone frame. It's one of the reasons the watch works for me.

So while it matches my size, I imagine smaller people would find their wrists and hands dwarfed and overpowered by this chunky watch. The face is around two inches across and the watch itself is more than half an inch deep.

While this is fine for outdoor activity, I struggle to get a shirt cuff over it - so be prepared to have your watch on show most of the time.

Keeping that mass on your wrist is a heavy-duty plastic strap, which sadly looks a little cheap considering the price of the watch. It's also strange that Casio decided to use a plastic strap in a watch primarily designed for active wearers - it encourages sweat build up and some big cavities on the underside of the watch and strap seem custom designed to catch that horrible, white, dirty crud that is left behind after a hot days climbing/skiing/walking.

My previous watch - another hefty beast of a G-shock - at least had a fabric strap and the option to change straps, which this watch lacks.

Billed as a "triple sensor Protrek" in the UK, the watch features altitude, temperature, direction and pressure readings - as well as telling the time and date. There are the usual alarm functions, although it's not the loudest alarm in the world and I've never trusted it to wake me up.

The watch can also store sensor readings over a period and represent changing pressure/altitude/temperature on a small LCD graph - which is quite nice for the weather nerds amongst us.

The compass again appears to be largely accurate, although local electrical or magnetic fields can deflect it.

And one annoyance is the temperature gauge is only useful if the watch is left off your wrist for ten or twenty minutes, so your body warmth doesn't affect it.

Again, without being sure exactly how the watch calculates its readings, I'm not convinced it can't be fooled into thinking altitude has changed because pressure or temperature has gone up or down, and vice versa.

I've found it pays to recalibrate the watch at every opportunity to make sure the sensors remain accurate. Thankfully this isn't a hugely onerous task once you've mastered the technique from the manual and just relies on you cross checking the current temp/pressure/altitude on another instrument and feeding the results into the watch.

For example, if I find myself down on the beach, I'll take the chance to set the altitude to sea level.

All the information is presented in large, clear figures - thanks to that big watch face. The compass relies on clever multi-layered LCD technology which allows it to be displayed on top of the usual watch display.

Build wise, as you'd expect from the creators of G-Shock, the watch appears fairly indestructible - however shortly after purchase mine let water in when I accidently left it on in the shower, which doesn't inspire confidence in claims of being water resistant to 10-bar. Eventually Casio agree to repair free-of-charge, but only after three months of making a pain of myself...which doesn't inspire my confidence in its customer service.

Further disappointment was with the less sturdy plastic styling round some of the sensors. I'd managed to snap off a corner within a few weeks - and that was doing nothing more dangerous than the morning commute.

Failings aside, it's still a fine watch, appeals to my gadget loving side and never fails to spark conversation.

Robust
Bought this model over 5 years ago. Turned out to be a very good robust watch! Although it does make you look like an action man! Usability of some of the functions is debatable (altimeter, barometer). I've a friend who is an air force navigator and immediately pointed out the inaccuracies of these functions even when supposedly corrected for environmental conditions , HOWEVER I can say, I used this watch in compass mode to trek across the Sahara desert and it never let me down! Even in the middle of a massive sand storm when I opted to keep moving by use of the compass. Got me to within a few metres of my objective with 5 mtrs visability for the entire day!

Did have a problems once the batteries ran out (admittedly after 5+ years) as once new batteries were fitted it never worked quite like it did previosuly!

not bat, but a bit disappointing
basically a good product, but some drawbacks - maybe overpriced for what it is. for example, for the compass to work well the watch has to be flat.. the warning is if the watch is slightly at an angle, then the readings can vary drammatically. not a major deal but it means you have to stop if you want to confirm your direction and one of the reasons i wanted a compass strapped to my wrist is so i could check direction without stopping

secondly, a minor annoyance, is that I cant find a way to switch off that beep it makes everytime you press a button. pet hate of mine is things that beep at me.

finally, it would have been nice if they could have made it a bit slicker, at almost 1.7 cm thick you definitely know it's on your wrist.

on the plus side, the features do work well and they've been very good at documenting the limitations. the buttons are big and easy to find when you're moving and it certainly feels very robust.

Great watch but not ultimately accurate
I've had this watch for many years and has given me a lot of joy. It is useful in many situations if you are an outdoors type.

One gripe I do have about the watch is it's sensor for temperature and also altitude. You need to primarily set the altimeter to a location you know. Sometimes it is right, other times wrong but you do need to check it is accurate on the day you set out.

If you are out and about in the middle of nowhere, you may need a map to reset the altimeter again.

The thermometer also is off by some centigrade since it takes into account your body heat. You need to take the watch off for a while to get a more accurate reading or go by an estimation by knocking off 7 or 8 degrees from the reading on your hand.

Otherwise, you can tell changes in atmospheric pressure and therefore work out whether there is an oncoming change in weather. It has other available odds and ends you would expect from a digital watch and the compass is absolutely fantastic.

It's just wise to know of a few things before you invest the money for this watch.

Very solid and heavy watch, just what i wanted, never regret at all. I'll recommend it any time.

Quality watch
I would agree, this watch looks fantastic. Worth mentioning that it is a little on the heavy side, but you soon get used to it. Comes highly recommended.

I bought this watch for my boyfriend and he loves it. It's a bit bulky so we had to take some links out but other than that it's a great buy and it looks ace!
