Inspired design + superb timekeeping = the perfect watch July 12, 2008 Baz (Manchester, England) 43 out of 43 found this review helpful
If, like me, you're one of those people that for whatever reason doesn't like to wear a wristwatch, this inspired piece of kit from Timex is the answer to your prayers.
I expected it to be quite light and flimsy, it's actually heavier than it looks, being made of solid resin (ie not hollow plastic) and has a durable feel, helping to inspire confidence in a watch with 'Shock Proof' on the dial. It should take a reasonable amount of punishment, being designed to hang from a belt loop or a rucksack or a bag - or anywhere else you can think of (I use mine like a pocket watch). It's water resistant to 50 metres so getting it wet shouldn't be a problem. In addition, the dial can be rotated along the horizontal axis for easy viewing whichever way up the watch is.
Apart from the above, what I really like about this watch is that the display, in TIME mode, shows ONLY the time (in 12 or 24 hour formats), and not the date (how many times a day do you need to know the day of the week, month and date?) which makes for a less cluttered and much clearer display. The date can be seen at the touch of a button viewable in DD-MM (for us Brits) or MM-DD for everybody else... The other really cool feature is that the LCD has a green reflector at the back. In normal viewing the display has the standard LCD grey background, but in low light, slightly tilting the watch increases the contrast, reducing the need to resort to the Indiglo light. One wonders why all LCD watches don't have this. You also get the standard chrono, timer and alarm functions. The battery is a CR2025 lithium cell which should be good for anywhere between five and ten years depending on how often you use the Indiglo light and/or the alarm.
Build quality is excellent, as you would expect from Timex. My watch has lost about two seconds a week since I've had it, so no complaints there. It's also ridiculously priced. I would have paid at least twice the price.
I love this watch - a fantastic example of the marriage between form and function. Much kudos to Timex for a beautiful piece of design and engineering.
Nearly 4 inches big & 2 inches wide. April 17, 2009 Umboman (Trowbridge,Wiltshire,UK.) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was a bit confused by the other clip types available but opted for the black Timex digital clip watch due to its looks, the 2 reviews & I wanted a clip/carabiner watch.
I really wanted a clip watch with a clock face as I prefer them visually -aethetically & I find them easier to read with a quick glance. The other clock types did not satisfy me on the reviews/performance/looks but I chose this as it seemed the best on offer.I was slightly anxious as to wether I had made the right decision............but as soon as I opened the box I knew that I was keeping it.My first impression was I was suprised at how big it is-nearly 4 inches(9.5cm) long & approximately 2 inches(5cm) wide.
The resin(& the metal alternatives)description made me consider it might break, but this thing is solid & should take some punishment.....though obviously not indestructable.Even a technophobe like me set up the time/date & 24hr clock within minutes.I started to read about the timer/alarm/chronograph(stop watch) functions & got out of my depth & decided not to get my brain tied up with a seemingly never ending button sequence........I would not use those functions anyway.I soon had the indiglo light working(I knew that was going to be great because I had that feature on an old dr who watch-it lit up the logo)& I spun the watch face with ease.I had trouble imagining how the flip worked but imagine a 2 pence piece with a matchstick glued to the middle.....as you pull a lever on the side it releases the face to spin on its centre axis so that the face is upside down on the other side of the clip.
In its box it is mounted on a stand which you can use to display it on your bedside cabinet, for safe keeping? For me black is the new black & it looks very, very smart.Anyone could wear this-Hikers,builders,painters,lawyers,nurses,doctors,physiotherapists,occupational therapists,carpenters,soldiers,secuirty,farmers,plumbers,diy,etc.....anyone who needs to have a clear wrist.Nice clip action & water resistance is a bonus should we need it.
I feel I could change the battery myself & in conclusion I am very happy with it;all of its positive points have overcome the digital display but that is growing on me.As the previous reviewer said tilting the face slightly shows a green semi bright screen to read it easier in normal light(in the dark you need the indiglo night-light).Well worth the money & free delivery as well!

good all round work watch
Time for a review June 1, 2009 Mr. A. Cowles (England) I found this watch a very good idea and a very good watch. Solid looking, good secure clip, and easy to understand. The buttons I find a little difficult for turning the light on,unless mine's just a bit stiff.
The face is large and easy to see. Perfect if you can not, or don't want to wear a wrist watch.
great product May 12, 2009 Raza Hi bought this recently...does exactly as stated on tin, robust, durable, easy to use and most importantly...accurate time keeping. Great light facility and moveable watch face. Well worth the money.
